The following was originally posted on my Not A Travel Writer sub-tumblr. As tumblr dies following its ridiculous self-destruction, I have decided to correlate all my previous posts, from several places, here. It makes sense and, crucially, means I own my content. In theory, it also means it cannot be removed by anyone else.

Yesterday I managed twenty minutes of writing, so I was quite pleased with the wordcount. It was an immigration day, when I had to part with cash to stay in this country a bit longer. Usually I feel as though the time is a bit of a waste, but on this occasion I sat by a fish pond, with cherry trees in blossom and swallows zipping around me, tiny blue butterflies shoaling around my feet, and a sense that time is just a part of life, but perhaps not how we think.

I shall be heading to the coast, and islands (oh! my islands! Once an islander, always an islander) in just over a week. I intend to do a lot of work then, but I also know I will be distracted by the sea and, especially, the coast.

TKTOWERS has one scene left after I finish this one – at least that’s what I think now, at this point. When I edit I shall undoubtedly add more, and others may not survive. I like this tale though.
