This morning this story flowered, blossoming into life. So far, in the bits I’ve drafted that I suspect will stay in the redraft, there are three lines of dialogue. Each one the same. Other than this, the whole of the first scene/POV is memory and description, thoughts of a place and times within this place. The connection to nature, to the land, to the seasons, these are what I am painting.

Speaking of painting, I have also been working on the cover and map design. Testing ideas and thoughts. It has been a while since I have painted a map, recently I have mostly focussed on either those produced by graphics programmes or on quick ink or pencil sketches. Using watercolours and pigmented inks is a great pleasure.
