Scrivener

I love Scrivener.  It makes things so much easier for working out where I am in a huge body of work.  It makes ideas and changes visual, ensuring I do not lose track of the whole or the details.

I am currently reordering scenes to tie in with some chronological edits.  Being able to shuffle things around as I would with index cards, or with print-outs, is invaluable.

If you write I would suggest trying Scrivener out (it has a 30 day trial period – a proper 30 days too, not calendar-based).

One of the best things about Scrivener, at least for me, is how it does not preach, instead it offers ideas and tools.  It is up to the individual to decide how best to use them.
