Now that I know I’m not going to get out to the wilder places this autumn/fall, I’m planning a spring trip, maybe April through to June, or thereabouts.

A part of this plan involves surrounding myself with old photos I have of earlier trips to the west coast of Scotland at this time of year. The switch from purple birch buds to fresh greens, sometimes overnight, is always a wonder.

This was taken back in May 2008, on an old camera phone.
